I am an Associate Professor in the School of Computing and Information Systems, Singapore Management University, where I head the Visual Understanding and Generation (VUG) Laboratory. Before joining SMU, I was on the faculty of School of Computer Science and Engineering at South China University of Technology. I received the Ph.D. degree from City University of Hong Kong under the supervision of Prof. Rynson W.H. Lau and Prof. Qingxiong Yang in August 2015, and the B.Sc. degree and M.Sc. degree in the Faculty of Information Technology from Macau University of Science and Technology, in 2009 and 2011 respectively. From January 2015 to June 2015, I visited the Computational Perception Laboratory at Georgia Institute of Technology, working with Prof. James Regh. Originally I am from Guangzhou (Canton), a beautiful city in southern China.
My research interests span the fields of computer vision, image processing, and generative model. I am a senior member of IEEE and CCF, and I serve as an Associate Editor for Neurocomputing.
